Finishes
We offer a wide range of custom finishes including Polished, Satin, Matte and everything in between. Our experience allows us to suggest particular finishes based on the stone type, durability and of course, aesthetics. Your stone can be transformed from polished to matte, matte to polished and converted back to its orginal finish at anytime.
Polished
A polished surface has the highest attainable reflection. We are able to create the maximum amount of depth and clarity in each surface that we polish. It is important to note that a polished finish does show wear and tear more noticeably compared to a finish with less clarity. When considering a polished finish, it is important to know the limits of your material. Most surface can achieve a high mirror-like reflection. Some materials have soft spots and natural areas of haziness. If you are unsure if your natural stone surfaces can achieve a high even finish, give us a call. We will be happy to advise you.
Satin/Patina
A satin finish ranges anywhere from a soft glow to a clearer reflection and is the most common finish for travertine and limestone floors because it tends not to show scratches and mild etches that occur with everyday use. We recommened a satin finish on floors and countertops and other high traffic areas. Most customers are able to get three years or more between services when a satin finish is properly maintained. Matte
Many homeowners choose matte marble and natural stone because of its natural look and warm finish. If you are concerned about future etches and scratches, a matte finish may be your best option. Wear and tear is much less visible as the surface is already dull and marks won't stand out. We also recommend a matte finish where slip resistance is a concern. A modern, yet old-world look, a matte finish is suitable for a wide range of natural stone surface.
